The not so chilling reality of Arctic Ice

Measuring the impact of climate change can be a real challenge with all of the variability in weather.  There are naturally warm years and naturally cool years.  It is easy to look at any one point in time and say "it's colder than normal... so climate change isn't real" or "it's hotter than normal so climate change is real".  

With something as volatile as the environment points in time are irrelevant, but trends are telling. This analysis by the NYTimes gives great insight into the Arctic ice trend.  A trend which is chilling only in its societal implications...
